Therapy for Individuals

Feel More Like Yourself Again
WE KNOW HOW YOU FEEL…

-
Do you find yourself stuck in a cycle of overthinking, self-doubt, or the pressure to be perfect?
-
Maybe you replay conversations in your head, worry about making mistakes, or feel like no matter how much you do, it’s never quite enough?
-
Perhaps you’re juggling parenting, work, or relationships, and it feels like there’s no space left for you?

On the outside, you may look like you’re keeping everything together, but inside, you’re drained, anxious, and unsure how to quiet that relentless inner critic.
We understand and are here to help…

These struggles can be exhausting, and they don’t just live in your thoughts.
When your nervous system is on overdrive, you might notice racing thoughts, trouble sleeping, muscle tension, a racing heart, stomach upset, or feeling constantly “on edge.” Over time, living in a state of high alert can lead to burnout — that sense of being worn down, disconnected from yourself, and unable to recharge, no matter how much you try to push through. Therapy offers a place to step back, breathe, and begin restoring balance, not only in your mind but also in your body.
Together, we can help regulate your nervous system, ease the intensity of anxiety, and create more space for clarity, self-compassion, and relief.
Research consistently shows that therapy is one of the most effective ways to reduce anxiety, overthinking, and self-criticism.

Studies also highlight that when people address perfectionism and patterns of self-doubt in therapy, they experience lasting improvements in mood, confidence, and relationships.
Importantly, therapy is also effective in preventing and reducing burnout. Research has found that learning healthier coping strategies, setting boundaries, and addressing chronic stress can significantly reduce exhaustion and improve overall well-being.
Therapy isn’t just about short-term relief. It’s about learning how to approach your thoughts, emotions, and challenges in ways that create real and sustainable change.
When you invest in your mental health, you’re building tools you can carry with you for the rest of your life. The mind and body are deeply connected. Therapy helps calm an overactive nervous system.
As you learn to regulate your body’s stress response, easing muscle tension, sleep difficulties, or that constant “on edge” feeling, you create space not only for clearer thinking, but also for a steadier, more grounded sense of well-being.

At Alcove Psychology, we work with teens (16+), young adults, and adults who are ready to move past cycles of anxiety, self-criticism, and people-pleasing.
TOGETHER, WE LOOK AT THE PATTERNS THAT KEEP YOU STUCK AND CREATE STRATEGIES THAT ACTUALLY FIT INTO YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE.

Our approach is both professional and human. Sessions combine curiosity, thoughtful questions, and research-informed methods designed to help you make meaningful progress. Therapy here isn’t about being told what to do — it’s about collaboration. We work together to uncover new perspectives, strengthen resilience, and build the confidence to face challenges both inside and outside the therapy room. Over time, clients often notice they feel less caught in their heads, more grounded in their choices, and better able to approach life with steadiness and clarity.

✔︎ Managing anxiety, stress, and worry
✔︎ Reducing self-doubt and self-criticism
✔︎ Navigating perfectionism, people-pleasing, and burnout
✔︎ Adjusting to life transitions such as school, career, parenting, or relationship changes
✔︎ Building healthier boundaries in relationships
✔︎ Strengthening confidence and sense of self
✔︎ Calming an overactive nervous system and easing body-based symptoms of stress, such as tension, stomach issues, sleep difficulties, or feeling constantly “on edge”

You don’t have to check all of these boxes to benefit from therapy.
Many people come in simply knowing they feel “off” — maybe their mind won’t slow down, their body feels stuck in overdrive, or they can’t shake a sense of heaviness. Together, we work to better understand what’s going on in both mind and body, and explore ways to restore balance, clarity, and relief.
How It Works
01
Your First Session
Your first session is a chance to share what’s bringing you in and to start clarifying your goals with your therapist. Together, you’ll explore what feels most important right now while also beginning to notice the patterns that may be contributing to your struggles.
Part of this process involves working with your therapist to take a history, looking at your background, past experiences, and important life events that may shape how you’re feeling today.
You only share what you feel ready to, and the goal is simply to build a fuller picture so that the direction you set together feels clear, manageable, and tailored to your needs.

02
Ongoing Sessions
Therapy is more than just talking. It’s about building a relationship where you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to explore difficult feelings, and equipped enough to try new approaches in daily life.

✔︎ IT’S ACTIVE: Your therapist won’t just listen! They will ask questions, offer feedback, and suggest strategies.

✔︎ IT’S PERSONALIZED: Your therapist shapes sessions around your goals, not a one-size-fits-all formula.
✔︎ IT’S PACED: You and your therapist move at a speed that feels manageable for you. Some clients want structured strategies right away, while others need time to build trust and explore at their own pace.
✔︎ IT’S PRACTICAL: The goal isn’t just insight, but tools and perspectives you can actually use when life gets hard.
Many clients describe sessions as a space where they can breathe easier in the moment while also leaving with perspectives and tools they can carry into their daily lives.
Next Steps
Book a free 20-minute consultation through Jane App, or call us directly if that feels easier. This consultation isn’t a therapy session, but a chance to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
Fit matters! Research shows that the quality of the therapist-client relationship is one of the strongest predictors of success in therapy. If it feels like a match, we’ll go ahead and schedule your first full session. And if it doesn’t, we’ll talk through other options, because the priority is always that you feel supported in taking the next step.
Imagine feeling less weighed down, steadier, and more confident in yourself. That’s the change therapy supports, and it starts with taking the first step.
